The involvement of children in international forums constitutes a significant contribution to the development of policies and visions that more effectively address their needs, Sahar El-Sonbaty, the Chairperson of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), said on Monday.
Furthermore, she emphasized that it fosters a culture of positive engagement and aids in cultivating a generation that can represent their nation competently on the global stage.
These remarks were made during the participation of a delegation from the council, which included child representatives from the Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), at the third session of the fourth parliamentary cycle taking place in Sharjah, UAE, under the theme "cybersecurity towards child-friendly content for Arab children."
Sonbaty highlighted that this involvement exemplifies the council's commitment to supporting and empowering children to take an active role in international discussions, grounded in the belief that they should be part of conversations that impact their present and future, in accordance with their right to self-expression as enshrined in both international and national conventions.
