North Korea's Leader Kim Jong Un declared the state's first COVID-19 wave and outbreak, describing it as a "great disaster," The Guardian reported on Saturday.

Reporting 27 new deaths on Saturday, the state announced that it found 174,440 cases with Coronavirus symptom as fever.

During a meeting with the strategies of the anti-virus, the leader discussed the process of "distributing emergency drugs” and presenting “scientific treatment tactics and treatment methods for different patients, including those with special constitutions," said The Guardian.

On Thursday, North Korean leader Kin Jong Un made his first public appearance while wearing a mask after the state reported the first Coronavirus infection.

Although the state claimed that Coronavirus is a myth, it imposed a strict nationwide lockdown to prevent any flow of infections.

International health authorities are concerned over the situation of the pandemic in North Korea as the scale of the infections inside the country is unknown.

Furthermore, international experts believe that North Korean people are unvaccinated, in addition, any strong flow of COVID-19 infections would leave serious consequences as the country is suffering from a poor healthcare system.
