North Korea has decided to reopen its borders for its citizens residing abroad, ending a strict isolation period imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to a report from the North Korean Central News Agency, the main center for epidemic prevention in emergency situations announced that citizens abroad are now permitted to return to their homeland.
The center specified that returning citizens would be placed under appropriate medical observation in quarantine facilities for a week.
The report further stated that this decision was made in light of the improving global epidemiological situation.
North Korea closed its borders in early 2020 as a preventive measure to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
However, recent indications have suggested a growing inclination towards reopening these borders.
