The North Korea Foreign Ministry denounced the move as a destabilizing act that threatens peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.

Germany's accession to the UN Command, announced on August 2, is criticized by the DPRK as an extension of an "illegal mechanism" established by the U.S. in 1950 to involve allied forces in the Korean War.

North Korea asserts that the UN Command, deemed obsolete by a 1975 UN General Assembly resolution, is being revived by the US to serve as a military deterrent against the DPRK and its neighbors, likening it to an Asian version of NATO.

Pyongyang also recalled Germany's historical involvement in global conflicts, suggesting that its participation in the UN Command recalls its past wartime actions and could exacerbate regional tensions.

The ministry warned that Germany's involvement would negatively impact peace efforts on the Korean Peninsula and potentially lead to more intense military and political confrontations.

In light of these developments, the DPRK Foreign Ministry emphasized that Germany would be held accountable for any consequences resulting from its participation in the UN Command.
