The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the distinguished scholar H.E. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Omar Hashem, a respected member of Al-Azhar’s Council of Senior Scholars.
In a statement, the Council praised Dr. Hashem’s lifelong dedication to teaching, scholarship, and service to the noble Prophetic tradition, describing his passing as a great loss to the Islamic world.
The Council extended its heartfelt condolences to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, the senior scholars, the late scholar’s family, students, and admirers worldwide. It prayed that Almighty Allah grant him His vast mercy and eternal peace.
