MSA Students Scoop 17 Awards in Int’nal Competition

Dr. Nawal El-Degwai, the Trustees Board Chairman of October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) said that the institution equip its students and graduates with various scientific and theoretical ideas to innovate and think about new and unconventional methods in finding solutions to all problems in various sectors.

MSA is keen to motivate the students, supporting their projects during the study period and encouraging them to participate in local and international competitions.

El-Degwai congratulated MSA students and graduates who won prizes and first places in many international competitions, entrepreneurship, tournaments and local and international sports competitions during 2019.

She stressed that these awards are evidence of the high-level scientific level of university students, the distinguished performance of the faculty and the quality of the educational process in various scientific and theoretical colleges.

Also, she explained that university students and graduates have proven their competence in all fields, as two students of the College of Engineering - Electronics and Communications Department won the second position in the world in the Huawei ICT competition in China; 100,000 students from 1,600 universities from 61 countries around the world took part in the contest.

Students of the Pharmacy College obtained four certificates of appreciation from the shield of scientific excellence from Irex and Istanbul University in Turkey for the project of using the Nile rose roots and rice straw in purifying wastewater.

In addition, a group of college students received two awards at the Dubai International Conference and Exhibition for Pharmacy and Technology as well as a prize of Excellence in the quality of the best research project in terms of innovation, presentation quality, and access to the natural product.

On other hand, the championships and sports competitions, El-Degwai expressed her happiness after one of the graduates of the College of Management Sciences - class 2017 was named among the top 10 in the world in the basketball game.

In addition, one of the graduates of the media Faculty won the 1st place and the gold medal in the World Championship of Physical Forces weight 60 kilos, held in Finland 2019, as well as obtaining the 1st place and the gold medal in the taekwondo universities championships.

The championship was held at the University of Alexandria from 21 to 23 March 2019. The university also won the African Cup of Dodgeball 2019 held in South Africa.
