“Moscow is very concerned by Turkey potentially sending troops to Libya,” a source at the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed, according to the Interfax news agency.
Yesterday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call from Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Mayo.
Egypt's foreign ministry spokesperson Ahmed Hafez said that the two ministers focused on the latest developments of the Libyan crisis and ways to restore security and stability there.
The two ministers also discussed the dangers of the current escalation due to the step of signing the two memoranda of understanding between the Turkish government and Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj, as this step represents a violation to the Skhirat Agreement, and contradicts with the efforts aiming to reach a comprehensive settlement to the crisis in Libya.
