Culture Min. to Safeguard Kamy’s Collectibles

CAIRO, Dec. 19 (SEE)- Dr. Inas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, decided to take all legal procedures to protect the collectibles of the library of the late artist Hassan Kamy, which includes manuscripts, books and rare documents.

Thus, the ministry formed a committee , headed by Dr. Hesham Azmi, the Head of The General Organization of Books And National Documents , to check and shear the heritage content of this library.

Accordingly, Kasr El Nil Public Prosecution was addressed to take the necessary legal procedures to preserve the heritage and artistic collectibles in this library and to stop any of his heirs or others to touch them until this committee finishes its work. It is worth noting that this committee is formed in accordance with article 3 of Law 8 of 2009, and its amendments of checking and shearing of Legal Affairs.

Moreover, the Central Administration subjected to the ministry was instructed to warn both the heirs and the library owner of the disposition of its contents until the committee completes its work.

Not only that, but the ministry also demanded all the people of Egypt to preserve  cultural and intellectual heritage and to prevent any kind of aggression against cultural heritage .
