In Khartoum, the Sudanese capital, witnesses reported intense explosions on Tuesday, following a mutual bombardment between the Sudanese Army and the Rapid Support Forces.

This military escalation occurred hours after the collapse of talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Eyewitnesses told Erem News that the explosions were continuous, particularly near the Army's engineering corps in Omdurman and the armored and ammunition units in Khartoum's Shajara area.

In Khartoum Bahri, explosions were heard near the Signal Corps, accompanied by intense military aircraft activity.

One witness observed three warplanes targeting a location with shells over the Kafouri area in Khartoum Bahri.

This military escalation followed the breakdown of the second round of talks in Jeddah, failing to progress on ceasefire and humanitarian aid delivery agreements.

Sources informed Erem News that the Rapid Support Forces sent significant military reinforcements from Darfur to Khartoum to resolve the conflict in Omdurman.

The Army had isolated Omdurman from Khartoum and Bahri by destroying the Shambat and Jebel Aulia bridges about a month ago.

The sources added that the Rapid Support Forces in Omdurman are facing fuel shortages, previously supplied from the Al-Jaili petroleum refinery via the now-destroyed Shambat bridge.
