Ahmad Al-Sharaa, the Commander-General of Military Operations in Syria, clarified on Saturday that Syria is not pursuing conflict with Israel.
Known by his alias Abu Mohammad Al-Jolani, Al-Sharaa stated, “Damascus lags behind the progress we have achieved in Idlib Province,” emphasizing his systematic plans to address the destruction caused by the previous Syrian regime.
Al-Sharaa also remarked, “We hold no animosity towards the Iranian community,” adding that he has provided Russia an opportunity to reevaluate its relationship with the Syrian people. These comments were reported by Al Jazeera.
The commander revealed ongoing communications with Western embassies, including discussions with Britain to reinstate its diplomatic representation in Damascus. “My objectives are clear, and my plans are ready to rebuild and develop Syria,” Al-Sharaa added.
Reiterating his stance, he concluded, “We are not seeking conflict with Israel.”
A Vision for Reconstruction and Diplomacy
Al-Sharaa’s statements reflect a focus on rebuilding Syria, fostering international relations, and avoiding regional conflicts. His remarks signal a shift towards a more strategic and diplomatic approach for Syria’s future.
