The Public Prosecution on Saturday ordered remanding in custody, social media star Aya, aka Menna Abel Aziz, and six others for four days pending investigations.

In a statement, the prosecution said that it requested a forensic medical report to determine if Menna was physically assaulted.

It stressed that the girl, 17, should be punished for committing crimes, however, due to her young age and being homeless in addition to tough social circumstances, she was pushed to commit such crimes.

Those crimes attracted the other detained persons to ravish, rob, and injure her.

The statement pointed out that Aya was forced to announce that she had no problems with the other arrested persons on social media.

The Public Prosecution warned the society of the dangers of uncensored platforms on social media, which exploits the youths' needs for gaining money and fame.

"All the members of the society, family, and institutions are responsible for socially controlling the youth," the statement added.

Earlier, Menna Abdel Aziz appeared in videos, claiming that she tolerated her abusers, noting that she had no problems with them.
