Member of Ukraine Negotiating Delegation Shot Dead- SBU

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense confirmed on Saturday the death of a member of the country's delegation in the first round of negotiations with Russia.

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) said in a statement: "Three intelligence agents of the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine were killed during special operations; they are: Alexei Dola, Valery Chebyshev, and Denys Kyreyev."

The ministry did not reveal additional details, but the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada,

Oleksandr Dubinsky and local media had previously stated that Kyreyev was killed during an attempt to arrest him by the Ukrainian Security Service in Kyiv.

The aforementioned sources indicated that Kyreyev, who was among the members of the Ukrainian delegation in the first round of negotiations with Russia, which took place on February 28 in the Belarusian province of Gomel, may have resisted when trying to arrest him, which led to his death. It is likely that the attempt to arrest him was on suspicion of treason.
