The forces participating in the "Medusa-14" Joint Exercise arrived at Egyptian military naval and air bases during the past few days.
The exercise officially commenced and will continue for several days within the scope of the Mediterranean Sea theater of operations, the Mohamed Naguib Military Base, and several military air bases.
The exercise includes the participation of land, naval, air, and special forces from Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and France, in addition to the participation of 12 other countries in the capacity of observers.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Sherif El-Araishy, Head of the Armed Forces Training Authority, delivered a speech conveying the greetings and appreciation of General Abdel Majid Saqr, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, and Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, to the forces participating in the training.
He stressed that the exercise is a promising opportunity to exchange expertise and familiarize participants with the latest modern military tactics, thereby enhancing military cooperation and supporting joint action with efficiency and competence.
Following the opening ceremony, the commanders of the participating nations inspected an exhibition of the weapons and equipment planned for use during the different phases of the training.
The event was attended by a number of commanders from the Egyptian Armed Forces and the commanders of the forces participating in the exercise.
