Marco Asensio suffered an injury against Barcelona in the semi-final of the Supercopa de Espana, and whilst there hasn't been definitive medical tests completed as yet, it is feared that the Spanish international will miss between two to three weeks of action.

This absence comes at the worst possible moment for the Real Madrid star, who had just broken into Carlo Ancelotti's starting XI on a regular basis, showing the potential that was so clear when he first arrived in the Spanish capital.

Los Blancos' medical team have estimated that the absence period of two to three weeks will be confirmed. Asensio was actually playing well against Barcelona in Saudi Arabia, but even the best-case scenario sees him miss the club's next two matches.
