Spanish reports claimed on Monday that Manchester City are already preparing for signing Lionel Messi and present him to the public, after the Argentinian captain expressed his interest in leaving Barcelona.
Barca's management has called upon Messi to pay his €700 million release clause to let him leave the Camp Nou.
Sport newspaper reported that the Citizens will not go in talk with Messi, until the 33-year-old football star reaches agreement and a conclusion with the Barca.
"City won't get involved in the negotiations whilst there's a risk of being dragged to court, which is why they are waiting for Leo and Barça to reach a conclusion," the newspaper reported.
It also added that the 2018-19 Premier League winners believe that make a such deal with Messi should be presented as big deal.
"City are aware that signing Messi should be presented as a big deal. Knowing the saga could drag out for a while yet, City are trying to get as much ready as possible. If the deal goes go through, no expense - or detail - will be spared by the English club," the Spanish newspaper said.
