Major Leap in Egypt-Côte d'Ivoire Relations

Lit. General Eng. Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, recently met with Ambassador Albert G. Doulé of Côte d'Ivoire in Cairo. 

They discussed enhancing collaboration in industry and transport and the meeting was attended by senior officials from both ministries. El-Wazir highlighted the strong bond between Egypt and Côte d'Ivoire guided by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to boost cooperation with African nations. 

He emphasized that these projects aimed at connecting with African countries following President El-Sisi's mandate to expedite these efforts.

Ambassador Doulé expressed his joy visiting the Ministry of Transport's new headquarters and his admiration for Egypt's progress. He emphasized Côte d'Ivoire's keen interest in strengthening ties with Egypt considering Egypt's leadership and potential to support joint ventures. 

El-Wazir welcomed this and stressed Egypt's commitment to boosting economic cooperation and trade between both countries. The talks covered industrial collaboration focusing on raw materials from Côte d'Ivoire and the export of Egyptian products. 

They also explored establishing factories and localizing industries in Côte d'Ivoire to utilize its resources. In the transport sector, maritime cooperation was a key topic, including potential partnerships between Egyptian and Ivorian ports and the feasibility of a new shipping line to boost economic and trade links. 

El-Wazir noted that Egyptian companies, known for their infrastructure projects, are eager to participate in Côte d'Ivoire's development. Egypt also offers extensive consulting expertise in project design and supervision.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to intensify discussions between specialists to explore future cooperation opportunities aiming for significant advances in transport, trade, economic, and industrial collaboration.
