Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli issued on Sunday a decision considering Thursday, July 2, a fully paid day off for governmental and private sector workers on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the June 30 Revolution.

The decision also applies to all municipal and public business sector employees, according to the official page of the Cabinet on Facebook.

School and university exams will take place as scheduled on Thursday with no postponement.

Cabinet spokesman Nader Saad said the government decided to consider Thursday a day off instead of Tuesday to give citizens a chance to spend a long weekend.

"This approach will apply to all national holidays in the coming period, except for Eidul Fitr, Eidul Adha and Christmas," the spokesman added.
