French President Emmanuel Macron posted, Thursday evening, a tweet after announcing his infection with the emerging coronavirus.
“With the pandemic, economic, humanitarian and social crises are growing. France is and will be at the rendezvous of international solidarity,” Macron wrote on Twitter. “The commitment to increase development aid to 0.55% of GDP by the end of the five-year term will be kept.”

Élysée spokesperson stated that Macron had a “fever”, in addition to being "tired and coughing" after testing positive for Covid-19.
"(He) is isolated all the while being able to continue working," the spokesperson said.
"Sorry to hear my friend @EmmanuelMacron has tested positive for coronavirus. We are all wishing you a speedy recovery," UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted Thursday.
European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen also wished Macron "a quick recovery."
The Elysee released a statement stating that the French president tests positive for the Covid-19.
“In accordance with current health regulations applicable to all, the president will isolate himself for 7 days. He will continue to work and carry out his activities remotely,” the statement read.
On the other hand, Lebanese media reported, Friday, that the Lebanese authorities were informed from Paris of the decision about canceling the visit of French President, not postponing it.
“Baabda Palace was informed by diplomatic sources through the French embassy in Beirut, that the visit of French President to Beirut between the current 23 Dec. and 24 Dec. has been canceled due to his symptoms of Corona,” according to Aljoumhouria News.
"The cancellation also included the double visit of the leadership of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the leadership of the French battalion, as well as meeting the Lebanese President Michel Aoun."
