The Elysee palace said, on Tuesday, that French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Germany, scheduled for July 2-4, represents a new stage in Franco-German friendship.
Macron will visit Germany from July 2 to 4 at the invitation of President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
It will be the first state visit by a French president in 23 years.
"This distinguished event marks the beginning of a new chapter in the decades-old friendship of both countries," Berlin said.
During his visit, Macron intends to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty of Friendship between Germany and France, which was signed on January 22, 1963.
It is expected that the German President will accompany his French counterpart to visit many regions in Germany. They will also be keen to emphasize the unique relations between the two countries and two peoples, especially the German and French youth.
