The French President Emmanuel Macron reacted on Tuesday towards Chadian President Idriss Deby's death.
"France lost a brave friend," the French President described in an official statement. He added: "It expresses its strong attachment to Chad's stability and territorial integrity."
In addition, Macron asserted the necessity of a peaceful transition of power in the African state.
Deby died on Tuesday of his injuries in the fighting on the front line following clashes between the army and rebels at the border, hours after the preliminary results of the elections declared that he won a sixth term and won 79 percent of the votes, amid the escalation of violence in the central African country.
