Emmanuel Macron, the president of France considered the resignation of the Lebanese Minister of Information George Kordahi would open negotiations between Lebanon and the Middle East countries; especially Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Macron said that he hopes his discussion with Mohammad Bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince, will resolve the disputes caused by Kordahi, and be able to re-engage all Gulf States with Lebanon in order to help Lebanon get out from its crisis.

During a press conference held after his meeting with the Emir of Qatar today, Saturday, he indicated that he will discuss the issue of the region's support for Lebanon with the Saudi Crown Prince.

"Lebanon was part of the issues I discussed with the Emir of Qatar," Macron said.

Macron continued: " I hope the coming hours will allow us to make progress." adding that he hopes this will allow Prime Minister Najib Mikati to call on his government and move forward stimulate the stalled economic efforts in the country.

He also added: "George Kordahi quitting his position as the Minister of Information will pave the way for discussion between Lebanon and Arab countries; KSA in particular."

"The countries of the region must help Lebanon and reopen the door for economic work with it. I have taken up the issue with his highness the Emir of Qatar and will discuss it with his highness the Saudi Crown Prince," Macron said.

Kordahi resigned yesterday on Friday. He considered in a press conference in Beirut that the resignation was an opportunity to resolve the crisis caused by his statements between Lebanon and Gulf countries.

The French president arrived in Saudi Arabia today, Saturday to discuss directly with Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
