On Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Israel to “put an end to its military operations” in Lebanon, not to expand its movement on the ground, and to respect Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The French President affirmed - during a press conference following a European summit in Brussels, according to what was reported by French media - that “Lebanon’s sovereignty is a fundamental issue that it will always defend.”
On the other hand, Macron called for exploiting what he described as the “opportunity” of killing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar to stop the war in Gaza, noting that the killing of Yahya Sinwar is a “turning point” in the conflict in the Middle East, stressing that a “military success” must be achieved to lead to several peaceful measures in the region, including a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
