A new opinion poll in Israel, the results of which were published on Friday, showed that the majority of Israelis do not want Benjamin Netanyahu, whose calls for his removal from office have begun to grow louder, even in light of the current war on the Gaza Strip, which has entered its 42nd day.
The results of the survey were published by the Maariv newspaper in cooperation with the Lazar Research Center.
When the participants were asked who was better to head the government, Netanyahu or the war cabinet minister, Benny Gantz, the results were as follows:
Benny Gantz 50%.
Netanyahu only 29%.
The poll showed that participants support replacing former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen as prime minister.
Maariv adds that this explains Netanyahu’s coup against Cohen in the last week, especially after he kept him out of prisoner exchange negotiations with the Palestinian factions.
