Father of Young Boy Who Assaulted Police Officer Issues Apology

The incident of the young boy who assaulted two police officers is still going viral on local social media, moreover, its circumstances drew the attention of several international news agencies.

This morning more updates regarding the incident revealed including the boy's father's statement.

Chancellor Abu El Magd Abdel Rahman Abu El Magd, the father the boy, expressed his apology to the Egyptian people and the Egyptian Police due to his son's mistake and shameful behavior. He stressed his rejection of the improper words his son delivered to the police officers and through the live streaming, the boy posted after the incident.

He vowed to rectify his son's behaviors. Furthermore, he stressed that the boy was taken to persecution one more time for starting new investigations after the boy posted new live streaming that sparked a wave of public rage.

Therefore, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfik honored the police officer involved in the footage due to his professionalism in handling the situation. On the other hand, the boy was kept in a governmental care home for further investigations.

Two days ago, video footage of the 13-year old boy driving a car without having the required legal license while assaulting police officers who stopped him, created a sense of controversy in Egypt. In addition, the boy attempted to hit one of the officers with the car.
