All hot air balloon flights in Luxor were canceled this Friday morning due to high wind speeds and easterly directions at the West Luxor Balloon Airport, authorities announced.
After wind speeds reached 12 knots, the immediate decision was made to halt all takeoffs and flights to ensure the safety of air navigation.
Hot air ballooning, classified as adventure tourism, enjoys significant popularity among tourists visiting Luxor. It often tops their travel itinerary, becoming a staple experience in the historic city.
With the flights grounded, many tourists resorted to holding photo sessions with their families and friends against the backdrop of the grounded balloons and amidst Luxor's stunning natural landscapes and agricultural fields.
Luxor has been experiencing unstable weather conditions recently, with temperatures reaching a high of 38 degrees Celsius today, adding to the challenges faced by outdoor activities.
