Libya imposes 2-week curfew on eastern region due to COVID-19

Head of the Supreme Committee to Combat Coronavirus at the outgoing Libyan Interim Government, Abdel-Razak Al-Nathouri, announced on Thursday imposing a full 2-week curfew on the Libyan eastern region. It started on Friday to be from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

The committee said in a statement that the curfew comes to limit the Coronavirus outbreak in the region as Libya is witnessing a spike in the number of cases by the disease.

It will shut down all cafes and restaurants, as only home delivery services will be allowed. It also imposes a complete closure of all barbershops, salons, and wedding halls.

The committee urged all administrative units to resume their operation with a reduced number of workers and employees.
