Lebanon's Roumieh unveiled the world’s largest Christmas tree made entirely of natural soap, marking a unique and symbolic celebration of the holiday season.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Antonine Sisters Catholic High School in Roumieh, located in the Metn district north of Beirut.
The event was attended by representatives of the Catholic Church, alongside representatives of Sunni and Shiite communities, as well as a large gathering of students and educational and religious figures.
The soap Christmas tree stands at approximately 2.5 meters tall and weighs more than two tons.
It was produced in cooperation with specialists from Khan Al-Saboun in the village of Badr Hassoun, known for its traditional soap-making expertise.
Speaking to Sputnik News, Sister Antoinette said that the initiative reflects the true spirit of Christmas.
“For us, Christmas is about actions, not words. Lebanon is characterized by its religious diversity, and from this perspective we shared ideas with our students and began asking ourselves: why not produce the largest piece of soap in Lebanon and distribute it?” she explained.
She added that the school reached out to soap-making specialists, particularly Khan Al-Saboun in Badr Hassoun, who welcomed the idea.
“We wanted to show the world the true image of Christmas and the image of Lebanon as a country of coexistence, forgiveness, and love.
Despite the pain and the psychological and economic losses we have endured, we continue to dance, sing, and pray. God is one, and from here the idea was born,” she concluded.
