Coronavirus: Lebanon Reports 8 New Cases, Bringing Total to 446

On Monday, the Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed 8 new Coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of cases in Lebanon to 446.

The ministry also reported one death at the Rafic Hariri Hospital for a female patient in her eighties and who was suffering from chronic diseases.

With the new death, the total number of Coronavirus death toll in Lebanon rose to 11, according to the statement.

The ministry urged all Lebanese citizens to abide by the preventive measures issued by the concerned authorities.

Earlier on Friday, UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus, as the outbreak spreads across the country.

Johnson confirmed the news in a video posted on Twitter, saying: “Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.”

He continued: “I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives”

The announcement comes days after Prince Charles was confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus.

Transmission of virus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.
