Lebanese Hala Ghosn Wins 2021 Int'nal Award for Science

Lebanese Dr. Hala Ghosn, Director of pharmacies and Vaccines Department at the University of Texas Hospital and President of the American-Lebanese Cultural Center won the 2021 “Fakhr Al-Arab Award for Science ”, and  International Excellence Award for Inspiring Women in Science in the Scientific Achievement category.

Dr. Ghosn’s efforts have been recognized through multiple awards in science, pharmaceutical chemistry, including the Golden Medal of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Sciences and Scientific Research, Fakhr Al-Arab Research Award, and International Excellence Award for Scientific Achievement at Dubai.

Moreover, she was honored to be selected in the field of visionary women carrying out inspirational research. She was also recognized for her medical contributions to medicine.

Dr. Ghosn, who is also a member of the American-Lebanese Medical Association,  said, beaming throughout her victory news conference: "I am over the moon about these awards." "For the last two years,  I have tried hard to create a persuasive campaign aimed at enhancing public trust in COVID-19 vaccination."

"Actually, I'm proud to be one of the Arab women who have been involved in the area of the social responsibility of medical workers."

"My persuasive campaign has supported treatment action campaign in the way that I have tried to raise awareness and to try to combat the pandemic in Lebanon and the Arab world at its peak through social media," she remarked.

"My main goal was to get enough of the Lebanese and Arab population vaccinated," she added.

It's worth mentioning that International Excellence Award for Science recognizes early-career researchers, where the winner makes an exceptional contribution to scientific discovery.
