Russian Foreign Minister (FM) Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday that Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, is still ready to conduct negotiations on Ukraine.

"We are ready for talks with the West to reduce tension, provided that there are realistic proposals based on an equal basis," the Russian Foreign Minister added, in statements reported by "Russia Today".

On the other hand, Lavrov pointed out that there are politicians in the United States and Europe trying to play the issue of nuclear weapons "irresponsibly", saying that Poland's claim to be a candidate for the deployment of US nuclear bombs is a matter of "concern" for Russia.
