In a significant step toward boosting local industry and achieving self-sufficiency, the Egyptian government announced today the launch of a new electronic system to support the localization of mobile phone manufacturing in the country.
The system aims to streamline production and manufacturing processes by providing an integrated database that connects local companies with global suppliers. It also offers financial incentives and logistical support to companies operating in this sector.
During a press conference held in Cairo, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology stated that this initiative is part of the government’s strategy to enhance reliance on local technology, reduce imports, and create more job opportunities for Egyptian youth in advanced technology fields.
The minister added, "The launch of this electronic system marks a significant milestone in supporting Egypt's telecommunications sector. We aim to attract both foreign and local investments to develop mobile phone manufacturing, contributing to the realization of Egypt’s Vision 2030 for sustainable development."
The new system includes training programs for young professionals in manufacturing and development, as well as the establishment of specialized research centers to foster innovation and creativity in mobile phone production.
Companies operating in the technology sector welcomed the announcement, noting that the system will enhance the business environment and attract more investments.
It is worth mentioning that Egypt has been working for years to strengthen its technology and telecommunications sector. Recent efforts have included launching various national initiatives and projects to develop digital infrastructure and support innovation.
