KSIU Is Core of Political Leadership Thought in Egypt: Minister

“Egypt is keen on the future of its youth, which lies in education,” Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education said. “Education is the nucleus of the strength of any country that wants to be in the first ranks.”

The success of the third edition of the World Youth Forum (WYF) proves that education importance in building countries. Egypt hosts WYF for the third year in a row, with more than 7,500 young men and women from all over the world arriving under the sky of Egypt.

In exclusive statements to SEE, the minister stated: ‘The political leadership under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi supported many projects and forums for building the Egyptian person through youth.”

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that a result of this is approximately 34 national projects aimed at building youth were carried out. Such projects are headed by technology universities and foreign universities branches in Egypt, in addition to international private universities.

He confirmed that Sisi recently visited King Salman International University, which is the first integrated university to be established in South Sinai. The university is established on an area of about 300 acres spread over 3 cities, namely Al-Tor, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Ras Sidr. It can accommodate about 2500 students, and it is scheduled to open in March 2020.

The Minister went on saying: “KSIU aims to be a smart university, a pioneer locally, regionally and globally in education and scientific research, community service, and achieving quality, excellence, upgrading and a catalyst for sustainable economic and social development.”

He pointed out that the university seeks to achieve strategic goals, most notably the qualification and graduation of human cadres in various fields of basic and human sciences at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels.

Abdel Ghaffar added: “The University is working to spread awareness in all fields of applied and human sciences through the production of applied scientific research that meets the needs of the local and international community.”

He highlighted the continuous and effective development of the educational and research process and the adoption of clear policies to market the results of scientific research.

He emphasized that the university’s colleges are pided into three cities:

1.El Tor that includes 7 colleges (College of Engineering, Science, Water and Oceanography, Industry and Technology, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing)in addition to the university’s administration, student housing, playgrounds, and auxiliary buildings.

2. Ras Sidr includes 4 colleges, namely (the Private Faculty of Agriculture, the College of Financial and Administrative Sciences, the College of Community Sciences, and the College of Veterinary Medicine) in addition to housing for students.

3. Sharm El Sheikh which includes 5 colleges (Faculty of Languages, tourism and hotels, architecture, and media production, Art and design) in addition to student housing.
