The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that the legal committees didn't observe the crescent moon of Ramadan, Tuesday. Therefore, the kingdom announced that tomorrow, Wednesday, will be the final day of Shaaban, and Thursday will be the first day of Ramadan.
Saudi astronaut and researcher Molhim ben Mohamed Hindy told media outlets that astronomical studies revealed that it is impossible to observe Ramadan's crescent moon in the kingdom on Tuesday.
He explained that the moon will set 11 minutes before the sun, which means it won't be seen in the sky after the sun set.
Hindy added that the majority of Muslim countries will begin Ramadan at the same time. The countries that observed the Shaaban crescent later than others could see the crescent moon of Ramadan on Wednesday which means that their first Ramadan day will be on Thursday.
The expert concluded that a few countries will start Ramadan on Friday such as Pakistan and Afghanistan.
