The Kremlin said on Monday that Russia will not provide gas to Europe for free, and the payments will be in rubles only. "A clear framework for payments in rubles for gas and oil from Russia will be agreed upon."
Noteworthy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed on Monday that negotiations continue with the Russian side to end the war, which started on February 24.
“A new round of talks is expected in Turkey,” Zelenskyy said, according to Ukrainian media.
“I am amazed at how many people have taken to the streets for Ukraine, and I will continue to communicate with other parliaments and hold new meetings next week,” he added.
“We will impose new sanctions on Russia,” he said, stressing, “The Ukrainian armed forces will continue to defend our land.”
Last week, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky said that the delegates of the two countries should prepare and approve the text of the agreement, before talking about the possibility of holding a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
It is worth mentioning that the Russian-Ukrainian war took place, a month ago, with thousands of soldiers from both sides killed and millions displaced from the Ukrainian side, since the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
Several countries have imposed significant economic sanctions on Moscow, in response to its invasion of Ukraine. In turn, Russia has responded by imposing personal sanctions on several American and Canadian leaders, led by US President Joe Biden.
