Russian Presidential Aide for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov described President Vladimir Putin's upcoming visit to India as "very important" and expressed hope that it would be fruitful.
Ushakov said, "We and the Indian side are actively preparing for the visit, and we hope it will be fruitful in every sense of the word. It will be a very important visit, as it is called a state visit." He added that the date has been agreed upon for early December and will be officially announced with the Indian partners, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
The Russian president's aide for international affairs added: "Most importantly, this visit provides an opportunity to implement the agreement between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Russian president to hold an annual meeting for an in-depth discussion of bilateral affairs and current international issues. In this respect, this visit will certainly be important."
