Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, responding to a question about the validity of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invitation to U.S. President Donald Trump, said the invitation remains in effect and that the decision now lies with the American side.
In remarks to Russia’s TASS news agency, Peskov stated: “The invitation has not been rejected; it is still valid. President Putin is ready to meet President Trump and would be pleased to do so. The final decision rests with Trump.”
It is worth noting that last August, following talks with Trump, Putin proposed holding their next meeting in Moscow; a suggestion welcomed by Trump, though he acknowledged the possibility of facing criticism for it.
