Renowned Egypt’s filmmaker, Khaled Mahran, will produce a series of films calling for collective efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As a part of the Arab Sustainable Development Week (ASD), many art institutions, media networks, and filmmakers decided to produce a number of documentaries and new creative films to raise awareness of the need to take action to build a better world amid the pandemic that is threatening a decade of global progress.

"The new project provides opportunities for young children, teenagers, and students to learn more about the priorities that our community is focusing on," the notable filmmaker and talented director said in his remarks during the fourth ASD week, referring to the approaches that call for achieving sustainable development.

Also in this regard, Mahran revealed that the new films aim to raise awareness about what needs to be done to combat some of the world’s biggest challenges, such as ongoing poverty and inequality, gender discrimination, and climate change – all of which are now under threat of having their progress undone by the coronavirus and its enormous impacts around the world.
