Kazakhstan has honored Prof. Dr. Mostafa Waziri, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, for his efforts in preserving the world heritage and for the recent archaeological discoveries in Egypt.
This came on the sidelines of the ceremony held by Kazakhstan on the occasion of the inauguration of Al-Zaher Baybars Mosque in Cairo after the completion of its restoration work.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Kazakhsta's speaker of Senate, the Grand Mufti, the Head of the Religious Administration of the Muslims of Kazakhstan, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Cairo, and a high-ranking delegation from the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a number of prominent Egyptian officials and public figures including the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Minister of Awqaf, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, the Governor of Cairo, and Dr. Mostafa Waziri, in addition to a number of religious and executive leaders.
