Egyptian actor Karim Fahmy contracted COVID-19. Fahmy announced this a few minutes ago on his Instagram account.
The actor is the third Egyptian celebrity who announced COVID-19 infection this week after actress Salwa Mohamed Ali and singer Mohamed El Sharnouby.
It is worthy mentioning that many Arab celebrities declared their COVID-19 infections amid the climax of the COVID-19 second wave in Egypt such as Bassant Shawky, TV presenter Ayat Abaza, actress Koky Magdy, and TV presenter Dana Hamdan.
Recently, Egypt witnesses a sky-rocketing rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths. On Wednesday, Egypt recorded 911 new infections, raising the total number of cases to 127,972 since the beginning of the virus outbreak.
“Forty-two more deaths were confirmed; raising the total number to 7,209,” Khaled Megahed, the Health Ministry’s spokesman, said in a statement.
