US Vice President Kamala Harris recovered from COVID-19 a few days after contracting the virus, her office announced on Monday.

Harris' Press Secretary Kristen Allen said: "the Vice President tested negative for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test." She added that Harris will return to work starting on Tuesday.

She contracted Coronavirus; however, she doesn’t suffer from any symptoms, the White House announced in late April.

The US Vice President “will be isolated and continue to work from the Vice President’s residence,” said Kirsten Allen, the spokesperson for Harris’s office.

Allen added: “[She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative.”

The spokesperson highlighted that while the White House official was in California last week, she hadn’t had any direct engagement with the president and the majority of the office staff.

Last December, she tested negative for the coronavirus after being in close contact with a White House official who contracted the virus, a spokesperson announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Harris is fully vaccinated and tested on a regular basis.
