Today, we celebrate the 8th anniversary of the June 30th revolution, when Egypt chose freedom and stability… A revolution born thanks to people’s will and determination, changing the face of the country into a successful state with its own characteristics and status.
Despite the hardships of this choice, our people managed to join hands and turned adversities into victories, after they paid the price of comprehensive confrontation with terrorism.
Under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s leadership, the Egyptians have sought to strengthen their country’s political and economic weight in various fields. They supported their political leadership to achieve miracles, towards the new republic era.
Sisi's Egypt has become an inclusive work society, a country with a strong economy where everything is done for the sake of the human being… The best education, the best health care, a land of peace, free and equal citizens, where justice and the rule of law prevail, in addition to a new economic policy that led our country to compete with the most advanced countries around the world.
Regarding global politics and economy, our country is a reliable partner with an undisputed international reputation. We play a key role in strengthening global security and stand at the forefront among countries in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
The Egyptian economy has become systematically persified with a real program for industrialization that has set its first task to change the face of our economy. Moreover, the country offers equal opportunities for all to obtain an education, besides, its various programs to bring about the radical development of all education levels from pre-school to higher education, thanks to policies of long-term investment in human potential, creating a talented generation.
The industrial sector went through very difficult years, especially in the post-2011 period, and the country entered into a cycle of chaos … The crisis reached its climax with the occurrence of power outages problems and the interruption of gas and electricity supplies.
However, after restoring the state’s strength following the June 30th revolution, as well as the strong measures and decisions adopted by the state, especially in the economy and industry, the situation has completely changed, and factories returned to work at full capacity.
The President’s real achievement
The real achievement of President Sisi is building a strong and successful state with an integrated economic space, as a production map has been adopted for the country and all its regions are working closely with each other.
The changes, that are taking place in the world under the influence of the prolonged global economic crises, are no longer frightening us, especially the recent Coronavirus crisis, which Egypt has overcome thanks to the achievements of economic growth after the June 30th revolution, and the comprehensive development in all fields. Now, we aim to continue sustainable development while preserving what has been already accomplished.
Egypt has succeeded in creating an appropriate investment climate aimed at enhancing economic potential, profitability, and investments returns, establishing an effective private economic sector, developing partnerships between the public and private sectors, and encouraging the state to export.
The government’s achievements in the industry file do not stop, as the 1st phase of Robbiki Industrial city has been completed, the tanneries moved from Magra El-Oyoun Fence, in addition to establishing a furniture city in Damietta and the largest textile city in Sadat, as well as other industrial cities like Gypto Pharma city and cities, specialized in the productive sectors.
Moreover, 80% of new industrial complexes have been completed, which include 4713 new factories for investors, 7 of which are set to be delivered to investors by the end of 2021.
The Egyptian model
The political, social, and economic model chosen by the political leadership to achieve our country‘s development has proven its effectiveness; a modern model of a market economy based on private property, free competition and principles of openness, and the state's active role in attracting foreign investments. The state has created the basic conditions for business activity and a modern tax system.
Egypt has adopted a special path in line with the 2030 sustainable strategy, taking into account the goals and tasks. We have made the right choice, a matter reflected during the COVID-19 crisis, as Egypt stood firm, and the crisis has not affected our achievements, yet making us stronger.
Efforts are also underway to complete the implementation of 13 complexes in 12 governorates, 9 of which are in Upper Egypt, and they will be completed by the end of this year. So far, 80% of them have been completed, including 4317 factories, according to the Trade and Industry ministry's plan, which will contribute to achieving high rates of industrial output, especially in light of many factories’ aim to deepen industry.
According to the latest data, the industrial complexes which will be offered include 1,203 new units ready for immediate investment, which are (266 units in the Beni Suef complex, 663 units in Mahalla complex in Gharbia, 68 units in Minya complex, and 206 units in Al-Baghdadi complex –Luxor).
During the past 7 years, the Ministry of Trade and Industry established 17 industrial complexes in 15 governorates with a total investment of EGP 10 billion. In addition, 3 new industrial cities were established, including the Leather City in Robbiki on an area of 511 acres, the new Damietta Furniture City on an area of 331 acres and the new textile city in Sadat on an area of 3 million square meters.
Welfare society
The main goal of the political leadership is to establish a welfare society on the basis of a strong state, a developed economy, and job opportunities for all by 2030. After the June 30th revolution, it has become a necessity to build a new country, penetrate the market, lay the foundations for a social state, and raise public awareness.
Huge returns and benefits will be reflected on the Egyptian economy, including mega projects to establish 13 industrial complexes across different governorates, providing 43,000 new job opportunities for young people, contributing to reducing unemployment, providing new products for the domestic market, reducing dependence on imported products, easing pressure on hard currency, and localizing small and medium industries.
The new industrial complexes also contribute to the localization of small and medium industries in various economic sectors in well-equipped industrial cities such as the Al Marghem Chemical Complex in Alexandria. The new complexes also contribute to deepening the local component in industries.
Establishing new factories, nearly 4,317 licensed industrial units, is an important step to achieve the desired industrial growth, especially since the industry represents the locomotive of growth, and contributes to the employment of nearly 18 million citizens, hence, the new complexes are one of the main pillars for achieving high growth rates.
In order to support the private sector, 48.6 million square meters of industrial land were offered during the period from July 2014 to December 2020, and 14.8 million square meters of industrial land were offered through the industrial investment map in 13 industrial zones during 2020.
The road network
The state has built a modern road network extending from Cairo and the main cities to all directions. These new highways renew our economy and society, tightly link all parts of the country with its center, and accelerate and intensify the movement of freight.
The New Capital
Egypt built a new capital which represents a modern city that is considered a symbol of modernity and pride for all of us; this capital showed the whole world our huge capabilities.
We congratulate and thank President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for all his great effort that exceeds all expectations, in order to rebuild the Egyptian state with major national projects that would not have been possible without the political will and the cohesion of the Egyptian people with the political leadership.
A tribute to our great army for supporting the people’s choice and will to protect the homeland from malicious internal and external conspiracies that were aiming at targeting the stability of Egypt and the safety of Egyptians. We also pay tribute and thank the Egyptian police that played a great national role in maintaining security and stability and protecting Egyptians’ lives and property.
Long live Egypt with its rational diplomacy, excessive power, and red lines.
God save Egypt, God bless our homeland.
