The Royal Court said that Jordanian King Abdullah began today Thursday a tour that includes major Western capitals that will lead him to the United States to meet with President Joe Biden to press for an end to the war in Gaza.
The king, who is visiting France and Germany first, is scheduled to hold talks in the United States with senior congressional leaders, politicians and administration officials. The statement did not specify a date for the meeting with Biden.
The United Nations expressed its deep concern about the fate of the civilian population, due to the advance of Israeli ground forces towards Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Jordanian king said, in statements in December, that Washington could play an important role in ending the Israeli military campaign in Gaza by pressing for an immediate ceasefire.
