Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, discussed the regional situation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in a phone call on Friday.
The conversation focused particularly on efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and the region.
According to a statement issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, Safadi emphasized that halting the Israeli aggression on Gaza is the first step toward de-escalating the dangerous situation in the region and protecting it from slipping into a full-scale regional war.
The two ministers also discussed several bilateral issues and stressed the importance of continuing a transparent and candid dialogue to address all outstanding issues and develop relations based on cooperation and mutual respect.
The ministers agreed to meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly next month.
