Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has declared that the greatest threat to regional security is the Israeli occupation of Palestine, along with racist policies, illegal actions, and the ongoing war against Palestinians.
In a post on the platform "X" on Thursday, Safadi criticized Israeli officials who blatantly enable war crimes against the Palestinian people, trying to justify the cold-blooded massacres against innocent Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and violating all international law articles.
He accused them of attempting to divert the world's attention from their aggression in Gaza and the West Bank by spreading misleading information about the true threats to regional security and about Jordan.
Safadi added, "But no one is deceived. The greatest threat to regional security remains the Israeli occupation of Palestine, the racist policies, the illegal measures, and the ongoing war against the Palestinians."
He continued, "The extremists who celebrate the killing of children, use starvation as a weapon, bomb hospitals and schools, attack UN humanitarian missions, violate the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, and deny the Palestinian people's right to life, have no credibility."
He mentioned that the numerous United Nations Security Council resolutions, International Court of Justice rulings, and testimonies from international organizations hold more credibility than the claims of an Israeli official promoting collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
Furthermore, the Jordanian Foreign Minister endorsed the steps taken by Josep Borrell, the European Union's Foreign Policy and Security Commissioner, to impose sanctions on these extremist officials.
He urged the European Union and all members of the international community to act immediately and hold accountable those who promote death and hatred. "Sanctions must be imposed.
The sale of weapons to Israel must be stopped," he asserted, adding, "Israel cannot be allowed to continue violating international law, defying the will of the international community, committing massacres against the Palestinians, and threatening regional security without consequence."
It should be noted that the Israeli military announced last Monday the launch of a military operation in the West Bank that will last several weeks, according to Hebrew media. In response to the Israeli military operation, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to address "the Israeli aggression in the north of the West Bank."
