The Jordanian military announced on Monday the interception and downing of a drone entering from Syrian territory. According to an official statement, the Jordanian Border Guard, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department and military security agencies, detected the drone attempting to cross the border unlawfully from Syria into Jordanian territory on Sunday. The drone was subsequently shot down within Jordan's borders.
The military statement also noted that this is the third drone to be shot down by the Jordanian army in the current month of August. On August 13, the military announced the downing of a drone loaded with narcotics coming from Syria. On August 16, the military's eastern command also shot down a drone carrying TNT explosives coming from Syrian territory.
