Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, emphasized the urgent need for collective efforts to halt Israel’s aggression on Gaza immediately.
He called for a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire and the opening of border crossings to allow humanitarian aid to reach all areas of the Gaza Strip.
Safadi made these remarks during a meeting on Wednesday with German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser and Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner, according to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Jordan and both Germany and Austria, as well as enhancing strategic cooperation with the European Union.
The officials also coordinated their positions on key regional developments.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in Syria, reaffirming the need to support the Syrian people in rebuilding their country through a Syrian-led political process.
The discussions emphasized preserving Syria’s unity, security, stability, and sovereignty while eliminating terrorism and safeguarding the rights of all Syrians.
Safadi stressed the importance of continuing support for refugees, organizations dedicated to their well-being, and host countries.
At the same time, he called for intensified efforts to create conditions conducive to the voluntary return of refugees to their homeland.
For their part, Faeser and Karner commended Jordan’s role and the efforts led by King Abdullah II in promoting security, stability, and peace in the region.
