Johns Hopkins University. : Coronavirus Infections  in World Hit  117.13 Million

Johns Hopkins University, USA,    announced that the number of confirmed cases of infections with coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world has risen to 117 million and 132 thousand and 454 cases.

The university reported - as it was published on its website today, Tuesday - that the total deaths due to infection with the deadly virus in the world rose to 2.6 million cases.

The university indicated that the number of infected people with  (COVID-19)  who have recovered around the world reached 66 million and 342 thousand and 139 people.

The university also revealed that the total confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States of America (USA) have risen to 28.7 million.

And the statement issued by the university indicated - as it was published on its website that the total deaths due to infection with the virus in the country rose to 516,6 thousand cases.

On the other hand, the administration of US President Joe Biden announced that the United States intends to provide two billion dollars to the Gavi -Kovacs Vaccine Alliance to support its efforts to help middle and low-income countries obtain vaccines.

The US administration stated, in a press release, that the contribution will be provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and this contribution will support the procurement and provision of safe and effective vaccines against the Coronavirus.

The statement indicated that "the population most at risk of contracting the Coronavirus, including health care workers, will be vaccinated, which will contribute to controlling the pandemic and slowing the emergence of new mutated strains, as well as helping to revive the global economy, and thus this will benefit the American people.

The US administration stated that it will provide additional funding during 2022, and will work with other donors to provide more pledges and commitments, to meet the needs of the   Jaffe-Kovacs / vaccine alliance.
