The “Kissing Booth” star Joey King is in negotiations to join the cast of Sony Pictures’ Brad Pitt-starring action-thriller, “Bullet Train”.

King was seen recently in the "Kissing Booth 2”, which was released on July 24, 2020. A third film from the rom-com trilogy is on the way. It is in post-production and is scheduled for a 2021 release.

In July, Pitt has signed on to star in “Bullet Train”, 17 months after he finished shooting his last film. “Bullet Train” will be directed by David Leitch, the director of “Hobbs & Shaw”.

It is based on the popular Japanese book, “Maria Beetle” by Kotaro Isaka. The novel revolves around a group of hitmen and assassins with conflicting motives on a train in Tokyo.

The production has been tonally described as film “Speed”, starring Keanu Reeves, which is set on a bus, meets Non-Stop, the 2014 Liam Neeson thriller set on a plane.

Sources stated that Pitt will play an American hitman named “Ladybug”.

The script is being written by Zak Olkewicz (Fear Street) and Leitch is overseeing revisions.

The studio is moving like a speeding locomotive on this one, hoping to shoot this fall. The film is a contained thriller, which means it can be shot on a contained set and fall in line easier under health restrictions than a more sprawling action movie with actual locations.

Pitt previously collaborated with Leitch as a cameo role in the filmmaker’s movie “Deadpool 2”, who also worked with Pitt as his stunt double in films such as “Ocean’s 11” and “Troy”.

Recently, Harvill Secker announced that it will publish the novel in English next year.

The 56-year-old actor took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”.

The 2020 Oscars took place on Sunday, February 9th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. The 92nd Awards ceremony witnessed many inpiduals making history including Bong Joon Ho’s black comedy “Parasite”, which became the first film in a language other than English to claim the movie industry’s highest honor after winning the Oscar for best picture.
