English midfielder Jobe Bellingham, a Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund star, is reportedly close to joining the English Premier League next season. He is currently a target for several Premier League clubs.
According to the German newspaper Bild, Bellingham’s name has been increasingly mentioned within English clubs, which have been closely monitoring his development since his transfer to Borussia Dortmund last summer from Sunderland.
The report added that Dortmund is unsettled by the growing interest from Premier League clubs, who see Bellingham as a perfect long-term signing.
Bild reports that Liverpool and Manchester United are likely the two leading clubs interested in signing him next summer.
Both clubs plan to revamp their midfield with young, talented players, viewing Bellingham as a smart choice who could provide both sporting and economic value.
The newspaper also emphasized that Liverpool seems to be the most logical destination for Bellingham, especially following the successful experience of his brother, Jude, at Real Madrid.
Bellingham reportedly wants to follow a similar path in terms of rapid development and integration into a top team system.
Meanwhile, Manchester United sees him as an opportunity to rebuild their midfield after a fluctuating season; the Red Devils had previously attempted to sign Jude before his move to Germany.
