The Israeli newspaper, "Jerusalem Post", said that the Russian government had ordered the “Jewish Agency” to stop all its operations throughout Russia.

The Israeli newspaper added that a senior Israeli diplomat told it that Russia says the agency was illegally collecting information on Russian citizens.

Officials in the Jewish Agency confirmed receiving a letter from the Russian Ministry of Justice regarding the suspension of the agency’s activities, but they did not comment on the matter, saying that the agency’s headquarters in Israel is currently discussing the response in coordination with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, caretaker Prime Minister Yair Lapid.

Israel is seeking to bring one million Jews from Russia and Ukraine, taking advantage of the ongoing war, especially since the number of the Jewish community in Ukraine is about 200,000.

There are also about 600,000 Jews in Russia that Israel seeks to bring to settle in the West Bank.
